Part 5

Trevor was looking deeply into Lindsi's eyes as he asked this question. "Trevor...I... You..." Lindsi swallowed hard. "You are the most amazing guy, and I love your company... I.. just got out of a HORRID relationship.. and.. I'd really like to get to know you more.. before I jump and fall again...I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to hurt you.." Trevor smiled at this. "Lindsi, I respect you. I respect you for the decision you just made, for the strength that must have required. And I would be delighted to get to know you more as well, and I'm genuinely sorry if I pressured you." Lindsi smiled hugely. "Trevor.. you have no idea how much this means to me! Oh my goodness! I could hug you so hard right now." Trevor opened his arms "Do it girl!" Lindsi slammed into him and hugged him tightly. she whispered. "Thank you." into his camo jacket. They then climbed into his truck and started back toward the college. Trevor stopped in front of Lindsi's car to let her out. "Safe and sound again ma'am!" "Thank you Trevor, for everything. I hope I didn't hurt your ego too bad.." Lindsi said shyly. "Nah! There's still hope crazy! You said not yet not no." "Indeed I did sir!" Lindsi said as she smiled and leaned over the console and  quickly kissed him on the cheek. "Trevor placed his hand over where Lindsi's lips were. "Yea, I definitely felt some hope there." Lindsi smiled and said: "Good. I hope you did. Please stay in touch Trevor." Lindsi then slid of  the truck and over to her car. She waved until he rounded the corner then got into her car. "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!" Lindsi squealed. "Oh my Goodness!! I can't believe this! He is so awesome! I hope he does stay in touch.. since I rejected him. I hope he isn't one of those guys that tell you they'll stay in touch and then he disappears." She thought to herself. She then looked Heavenward. "May Your Will Be Done." She then drove home.

At 10:30 the next morning, Lindsi was awakened by her phone ringing. "Err.. Helloo?" "Morning sunshine!" Trevor said. "Morn..ing." Lindsi said as she rubbed her face. "I'm sorry if I woke you up but I just wanted to call to see if you had any plans tonight?" "It's okay, best wake up call I've had in a while. Tonight huh? Let me look." Lindsi threw the covers back and walked over to her wall calendar and looked at the days date. It was empty. Her heart leaped. "It looks like I'm free tonight. What's up?" "I was wondering if you wanted to go out to eat.. with me.. tonight." Trevor stammered. "I would love to!" "Awesome! What time am I picking you up?" "What time works for you?" Lindsi said half shocked. "He is COMING to PICK ME UP? Wow. This IS a first." She thought to herself. "Say around 7?" Trevor said breaking up the thought. "Sounds amazing.. I'll text you the directions, but I warn you they are kinda confusing. If you get lost call and ill come meet you somewhere, until you get the hang of it." "Okay! Sounds good." Trevor laughed. "Wait! Where are we eating?" Lindsi asked. "You'll see pretty girl you'll see." "A surprise huh? I love it! But that doesn't help in the "What do I wear" department you know!" Lindsi teased. "Well, All I can say is wear what you want. You'll look beautiful in anything I know for fact." Trevor said. "Thank you Trevor! That was sweet!" "Anytime Lindsi. Anytime." Trevor said. "See you at 7 then!" Lindsi said her excitement mounting. "I can't wait. And I mean that literally." Trevor said. Lindsi laughed. "It's  only 8 1/2 hours! You'll survive, now if you'll excuse me I have to go raid my closet." "OH! What are you wearing?" Trevor asked curiously. "You'll see Trevor. You'll see." And she hung up the phone.

Part 4.

Lindsi's phone buzzed right as she was about to pick up her things and head to Speech. "Meet up after class?" Trevor texted. "Sure! I get out at 12:20, where we meeting?" Lindsi gathered her things while she waited for his response. "Meet me in from of the Student Center" "Okay see you there!" Lindsi sat anxiously awaiting the speech class to be over. 12:20 finally rolled around and she practically ran out of the classroom. She walked a little ways to the Student Center and there, sitting on the brick, was Trevor. He turned, stood and smiled when he saw Lindsi coming. "How was class?" He said as he opened his arms for a hug. Lindsi hugged him and said: "Grueling. I detest speech." Trevor laughed and said: "Was that your last class of the day?" "Yes. Thank goodness!" Lindsi said as they released the hug. "Do you wanna go for some coffee? It's kinda chilly out." "I'd love that, but I'm broke." Lindsi said laughing. "I'll pay." Trevor proceeded. "I CAN'T LET YOU DO THAT!" Lindsi protested. "I insist! Now hush." Lindsi curled her lips under as Trevor told her this. "Come on! My trucks right here." They walked to his truck. On their way to Starbucks, Trevor was playing 102.5 and Redneck Crazy came on. The two exchanged looks and sang at the top of their lungs. They harmonized well. after the song was over, Lindsi say: "You are the first guy that's ever wanted to sing with me out loud and proud!" "Really? The others musta been chicken shits!" Lindsi laughed out loud. "I reckon they were!" Trevor laughed and turned into the Starbucks parking lot. After they got inside and ordered their drinks and they were standing around waiting for them Trevor turned to Lindsi and said "You know, truth be known... your the first girl I've ever really clicked with.. and your also the most unique girl I've ever met. But I like it."  "Well thank you sir. Same to you." Lindsi said with a big smile. "and You have one of the most beautiful smiles I've ever seen." Lindsi couldn't help but blush at this. "$5,000 dollars worth..." Lindsi stammered as the Starbucks lady called her name to go get her drink then called Trevor's. Lindsi picked them both up and turned to walk back to the table and bumped into Trevor. "Oh! I.. I'm sorry.." Lindsi said as Trevor caught her around the side with one arm and took his drink with the other. "It's fine.." Trevor said as he looked down into Lindsi's eyes. Lindsi smiled as he released her and they walked back to the table. The chatted over their coffee and when it was time to go Trevor stopped Lindsi by grabbing her shoulder and slightly spinning her around. "Lindsi. I can't take this anymore. You are the most beautiful, unique, funny, amazing girl I've ever had the privilege of meeting. I can't focus on anything without your face popping into my head. Your wonderful." "Trevor I... I don't know what to say...." "You don't have to say anything Lindsi. Just stand very.. very.. still." Lindsi was. Trevor neared her lips.. He planted his lips on hers gently. He gently placed a hand on her face and with the other he held her hand in his. After the kiss was over Trevor lifted Lindsi's face to look at him. "Lindsi. Will You be my girlfriend?"

Part 3.

Lindsi finished up her hour and a half yoga class, and was headed out the door of the class, only to find a ever sweaty Trevor standing beside it. "Hey!" He said as he spotted Lindsi. "Hey..." Lindsi breathed. Her yoga teacher worked them out again today. "Tired?" Trevor said as he walked along with Lindsi outside. "Yes. Horribly." Lindsi said as she draped her jacket over her shoulders. Even though she was sweaty it was still 60 degrees out there. "Me too! I just lifted and did the elliptical" Trevor said as they waited for the cars to go across the street. "You are probably worse than me then! My core hurts and my hairs a mess and I'm sweaty." Lindsi said. "Ouch. Um.. Hey.. I know your really tired and all but.. is there any way you would.. maybe.. like to go for... yogurt?" Trevor edged. "Frozen?" Lindsi asked inquisitively. "Yea! TCBY okay?" Lindsi smiled then. "How did he know I've been CRAVING frozen yogurt?" Lindsi asked herself. "Yea! That would be great!" Lindsi said. "Awesome!" Trevor said as he too smiled. "Gosh he has a great smile..." Lindsi again thought to herself. "We can take my truck if you want.." Trevor asked carefully. "Umm are you sure you wanted to bring me all the way back here?" Lindsi asked as she shivered slightly. "Yea! It's not a big deal to me! Unless you wanna take your car. I thought it would save you gas." Trevor said as he noticed her shiver. "Wow, um, That's REALLY nice of you." Lindsi said shocked. "Hey! My momma taught me manners! What can I say?" Trevor beamed. Lindsi smiled and shivered again, her sweat had dissipated by now. "Well, It's definitely a good quality to have, manners take you a long way." "Yea, they do." Trevor said as they reached his truck. It was a grey Z71 with mud tires, slightly lifted. "Wow..." Lindsi gaped as he unlocked the drivers side door. "What?" Trevor asked as he walked around the other side and opened the passenger side door for Lindsi.  "This truck... is AWESOME! I've always wanted a truck like this!" Lindsi said excitedly. Trevor smiled. "Really? I wouldn't have pegged you as a truck loving kind of girl. It's definitely not a mother ship." Trevor smiled wider as he said this. "Your right... it's 150 times BETTER! And hey there's ALOT more to me than meets the eye boy! " Lindsi said as she walked closer to the door. "Thank you, and oh really? Like what?" Trevor said as he helped Lindsi into the truck and shut the door. Lindsi buckled up while he walked around the other side and hopped in. "Well, missy Ma'am?" Trevor said as the engine roared to life. " Well, for starters, I AM a truck loving kind of girl, Thank you!" "Alright what else?" Trevor asked as he pulled away from the college. "Goodness. Where do I even begin!" Lindsi said with a smile as she warmed her hands on the vents of the truck. "Well, at the beginning silly!" Trevor laughed.  So she did. "Well on July 13th 1995 a baby girl was born....."

As they pulled into TCBY's parking lot, Lindsi was just finishing telling Trevor about all her courses she was taking at the college. He knew her birthday, that she lived with both her parents and puppy in DeKalb, that she loved music, animals, and laughter, about her best friend, and her family, what movies she liked, what she did for fun, and how silly she loved to act. He seemed accepting of it all. " Now tell me about you!" Lindsi prodded as she filled her cup with yogurt. "Well, I'm 19. Birthday is June 23, 1994." Trevor said as he followed behind Lindsi. " My parents live here in Texarkana, I grew up in Abilene, Then we moved down here, because dad got a job offer, and we stayed here ever since." They sat down at a table as Trevor continued. "I too love music, animals, and Jesus, and laughter." Lindsi smiled as she took a bite of her yogurt. "I love riding four-wheelers, mudding, and horse back riding." Trevor continued. " Wow! Lucky! I can't ride four-wheelers! One we don't own one and two I'm in a residential area. If I did though I'd be muddy all the time. Even though I've never done that either... or horseback riding." "What kinda country girl are you!?" Trevor laughed. "If you ain't never done none of them things you ain't quite country...yet." "Well! It's not my fault!" Lindsi laughed back. "True, True. Maybe one day when we both don't have class I can take you out to my place and we can make you into a FULL country girl, You've definitely got the accent down though!" Trevor laughed. "Thank you! I think.. and that would be AWESOMEEEE" Lindsi said as she scraped the last of her yogurt into her mouth. "Okay then! Just tell me when you don't have class and we'll try to set it up." "Okay. Will do!" Lindsi said as she and Trevor stood and started toward the door. "So, did you enjoy your yogurt?" "The yogurt and the company were both divine!" Lindsi said  flirtily. Trevor smiled. "I'm glad I could help with that. I had a good time too." They climbed back in the truck and started toward the college. They were discussing food, when they pulled up next to Lindsi's car. "Thank you Trevor. I had a great time." Lindsi said shyly. "Your most welcome. Thank you for not rejecting me!" Trevor said. Lindsi laughed. "Why in the world would I reject you?" " Because, You think I'm a creepy guy who keeps stalking your every move." Trevor said. "OH! SO YOU ADMIT IT!" Lindsi said smiling. "NO! NO! That's not the way...." " I know I know! I'm playing, I promise. You are super nice and a gentleman is what you are sir." Lindsi said. Trevor smiled again. "Thank you Lindsi. Um.. Hey.. Do you wanna exchange phone numbers to keep in touch or would that be to far or creepy?" 'NO! That's totally fine! I was wondering how I was going to contact you if I didn't have class anyhow!" Lindsi said pulling out her phone. The two exchanged phone numbers and Lindsi jumped out of his truck and after saying their goodbyes she waved as he pulled away from the curb. "Wow, He is something else." She thought to herself, looking Heavenward. " Thank you, It was totally worth the wait, and little bit of pain. Thank you God, Thank you." She got in her car and drove home.

Part 2. (Continuing from last post.)

As they neared her car Lindsi smiled and said: "There it is! The grand mothership!" Trevor laughed and said: "Ah! Looks like it gets good gas mileage!" "Yea, it does!" Lindsi said as she patted the hood of her blue Hyundai and dug around in her purse for her keys. When she finally found her keys she clicked the unlock button on her automatic key ring. She opened the back door as Trevor huddled closer to the car to block the slight wind that was blowing that day. She threw her bag in the back and shut the door, and turned to get into the front when she noticed Trevor huddled close to the car, arms shoved into his coat pockets. "Oh, my goodness! I'm sorry your standing out here in the freezing weather on account on me! I feel really bad now!" "Eh it's fine! Don't worry about it, and don't apologize! I told you I'd walk you to your car and I am a man of my word!" "Well thank you for freezing and keeping your word, ye kind and noble gentleman!" Lindsi said as she opened the drivers side door and stood behind it. Trevor chuckled and said: "Ye are welcome, ye fine maiden!" Lindsi laughed and ducked inside her car and shut the door, smiling one last time at Trevor before buckling up and backing out. He smiled back and did a small wave as he watched her til all he saw was her taillights. When Lindsi reached the first red light after pulling away from the college she thought to herself. "I may never see Trevor again.. it was nice while it lasted though." The light then turned green and she drove home thinking about philosophy and the cold weather.

Two weeks passed and Lindsi was an hour early to her yoga class, because her Ethics teacher was out of town so she didn't have to attend that class. She had been wanting to explore the gym, other than the yoga room, and she did have an hour to kill. She was feeling like she wanted to try out the elliptical, and those, she believed, were on the top floor. So she mounted the steps in search of the stationary bike. When she got to the top floor she noticed she was the only one there. "Good! I don't have to be eyeballed by creepy old guys, or young, dumb college prevs." She thought to herself as she chose a machine toward the middle of the upper deck. She was busily pedaling away when out of the corner of her eye she saw a figure she didn't pay much mind to it, she was in the peak of her workout. "Lindsi?" She slowed down and turned her head toward her name only to see Trevor standing 2 feet away. "Oh! Hey! Good Lord! I.." She grabbed her towel from her bag on the floor as she dismounted off the bike. She began to wipe the sweat off of her face and chest as Trevor set his stuff down. "Are you stalking me? How'd you know I'd be here today...?" Trevor said trying to hide a sly smile. "I Would never do that!" Lindsi said as she took a long drink from her water bottle. "Oh By the way! Your new furniture looks great from the yard." She smiled again as she took another drink. Trevor chuckled that adorable chuckle of his, and mounted one of the bikes. "So where you done? Where you stopping on account of me interrupting you?" Lindsi looked at her cell, it was 1:30, she did have another good 15 minutes before she had to be downstairs for yoga. "I actually have a class at 2 downstairs." She said sit back on the bike she was just on and pedaling slowly. "Oh? What's that?" Trevor asked curiously. "Yoga. The only reason I'm here is because my 12:30 philosophy class cancelled, and I've been wanting to get up here!"  "Ah! I see! So you are an avid workout person?" Trevor asked pedaling too. "Well, I do love to workout, but at the beginning of the semester I was TOTALLY out of shape, I'm slightly better now." Lindsi said staring down at her tummy. "I come up here when I have the time, But I like to workout as well, it's a good stress reliever." Trevor said staring at Lindsi across the way. "Yea, yoga is pretty good at relieving stress but it can be a BIG workout too!" Trevor nodded in agreement. "You look pretty stress free to me." "Yea, But that's from not procrastinating on homework (too much), a regimen of facial cleansers, and GOD." Lindsi said with a shy smile. "Yea? It helps to have a go getter attitude and the Man Upstairs to help you." This caught Lindsi off guard. "You believe!?" Lindsi said excitedly. "Of course I do! Goodness! I wouldn't be anywhere without the Lord!" Trevor said enthusiastically. "Good.. Great, to know. Oh! My class starts in 10 minutes! Dang you Trevor... making me almost late!" Lindsi said as she hopped off the bike and slung her bag over her shoulder. Trevor held his hands up in surrender. "I'm sorry. Please don't take me to your base on Jupiter and suck my brains out through a straw!" She swatted him playfully on her way past him to the stairs. He was muscled up.  "I'll never live that Jupiter thing down will I?" She asked as she was about to descend. "Maybe, but not today." Trevor smiled. Lindsi smiled back and said, "Oh! For the Record. I was here first, so if anything you stalked me." "Dang. Witty.Smart.AND pretty." Lindsi rolled her eyes and waved as she descended the stairs. "Bye Trevor!" She called over her shoulder. "THAT WAS A COMPLIMENT!" She heard him yell. "I know," she said to herself as she opened the door to her yoga class.  "Believe me I know."

Food for thought.

It had been three months. Three months of college. She was smarter, still no friends (her age at least), and she was in better shape (thank you Yoga). She was lounging on one of the couches in The Hub, reading her philosophy book. Her hair was longer and curly, loosely hanging around her shoulders, and she was in dark wash denim jeans and a white shirt with a brown scarf. (November weather). A guy comes in and notices her. She gives him a look that says: "Don't even think about it buddy, I'm busy." She wasn't always like that. She just decided to not be so easy and soft anymore, because when she was, they used and abused her. Besides, she was leaving it to GOD. He sat in a chair in the corner and opened his own book. She stole little glances at him every now and then. Sandy brown/blonde hair, green eyes, red and black plaid shirt with white undershirt, and faded, worn jeans. "Hmm, not bad.." she thought to herself. "What the heck is wrong with you!?! Back to your book missy!" She scolded herself. She turned her attention back to her ethics book. She was reading about the importance of morals when she heard him say: "You like that book?" She turned to him slightly annoyed. " Yes. I find it interesting! Thank you." She turned back to her book. "Hmm. To each is own I suppose." He retorted. She was silent for a while, as was he. His cell phone began to ring and he snatched it up out of his pocket. "Redneck Crazy" by Tyler Farr started playing. Her head turned so quickly she almost gave herself whiplash. He answered the call. " Hey man! No, just doing a little reading. Yes. I read." He laughed then, a hearty, full laugh. If she was a dog her ears would have perked up then. It was a cute laugh. Not sissified, not lumberjack. Good and wholesome. "Yea, I'll text you later, there is someone else here who I don't think takes to kindly to others interrupting her. Yes. A Her. I don't know. Okay. Later man." "Sorry one of my buds." He says as he slides his phone back into his pocket.  "It's okay" she says as she turns a page "Umm.. nice ringtone.." She said offhandedly. "Oh! Thanks. It's a favorite of mine!" She smirks and places the book on her knee. "Mine too!" "Really now! Well what do you know!" He laughs again. She smiles at that laugh. "Yea, I've loved that song since I first hear it!" He nods. "Me too! I crank my stereo UP when it comes on the radio." She nods in agreement. "Oh, Gosh! Where are the southern manners my momma taught me! She'd slap me if she was here! 'Specially in the presence of such a beautiful woman!" She purses her lips together but eventually gives up and smiles. "I'm Trevor." He says extending his hand. "Lindsi" She says in return, shaking his hand. "Rough hands.. firm grip" she thinks to herself. "Nice to meet you, Lindsi" "Likewise to you Trevor." She leans back against the couch as he gets this cheesy look on his face. He has one eyebrow raised and a smirk on his face and says: "So, You come here often?" She smirks back and says: : Nope, just dropped in from Jupiter. My ships parked out front." "YOU are the one that is taking up 6 parking places huh? Shame on you! They will ticket you for that you know!" She cracks a smile and says: "Eh, I'll be okay. I just hope they take Jupitarian dollars." "I don't think that'll work....." He says. "She laughs at this. "Then I better board the mother ship before I get ticketed!" "Damn!" He mumbles. "What? I gotta be home in time for dinner!" She says still smiling. " I had a feeling you were from another planet.. cause your looking outta this world!" He gets that same goofy look on his face. She laughs out loud this time. "Okay, so that was bad. Really, Really bad." "But it made you laugh"  "That it did that it did!" She begins to gather her things. "So you were SERIOUS about boarding the mother ship!?" He stands as she finishes closing her bag. "Okay, So I'm not an alien, I'm not from Jupiter, and I'm only occupying one parking spot. You got me!" He chuckles as she slings her bag over her shoulder. "Would you be brave enough to view and help me find my mothership?" She does the star wars/ trek fingers. "I do come in peace" "I would love too." He says as they exit out into the chilly day.
