Part 10

Lindsi went to sleep that night dreaming of the date she just had. Trevor had texted her and told her he was home before she decided to go to bed, so she didn't worry about him. She woke the next morning and go ready for church. Trevor texted her good morning and they talked for a while before they both had to go get ready for church. Lindsi loved going to church on Sunday. She always felt whole, and at peace with herself and so close to GOD. She loved hearing His word and listening attentively as the preacher brought the message. It was close to Thanksgiving, so the message was related to that. Lindsi had TONS and TONS of things to be thankful for. Her family, her health, her college, her two adorable puppies, and Trevor. GOD had blessed her so much. She was also thankful for the decision she made to finally let go of the reigns and let GOD rule over her life. It was by far the best decision she'd ever made.
She thought back to August when she was going through her last really bad breakup. She was wreck. Her face was broken out from stress, she was depressed all the time, her life was a roller coaster. Until the day she and her boyfriend decided to split. Jacob (her boyfriend at the time) was so controlling, and though the two usually got along, they had been fighting over the smallest things lately. The two were even talking marriage and kids. Lindsi at one point believed it was going to work out and that everything would be fine. But it all came crashing in around her. On top of being very controlling Jacob and Lindsi's mother butted heads constantly, and Jacob didn't believe in GOD. That was the biggest issue in the two's relationship. Lindsi had tried to witness to Jacob over and over again but he wasn't going to ever listen or change his views. So Lindsi because of this and along with other reasons told him point blank that they weren't working out and they split up. Lindsi took the breakup hard. Even though they didn't see eye to eye, Lindsi did love Jacob. But she knew in her heart and soul that it wasn't going to ever work out between the two of them. GOD was a HUGE part of Lindsi's life, and she needed someone who would respect, honor and embrace that fact. So it took a while but Lindsi eventually moved on. She didn't do it alone, for she knew she couldn't. Lindsi had to enlist the help of her Savior. So with God by her side Lindsi started college and focused more on bettering herself. Then God smiled  down upon her and blessed her with Trevor.
"So tell me more about your date!" Lindsi's mom said as the two stood in the kitchen after church. Lindsi had told her mom first thing that she had finally agreed to be Trevor's girlfriend. " Really!? That's great! You know I am so proud of you for waiting and not just jumping head first." Lindsi's mom had told her after Lindsi spilled the beans. "Well, that comes from experience mom and this time I was determined to get it right." Lindsi had retorted back. "Right you are. You did a good job." Lindsi's mother had said.
Lindsi described the date to her mother as she helped put away the dishes out of the dishwasher. "Look like you found your Romeo." Lindsi mother had said smiling. "Yes! I hope so at least." "I like him. He was very polite, had a firm handshake and rough hands." Lindsi's  mom said.  "I thought you would like that! His fingernails are clean too!" Lindsi said cracking up. Lindsi's mom would always tell this story of a man that Lindsi's grandma would not date because his fingernail were dirty. Lindsi's mom busted out laughing too. "Your grandmother will love to here that!" Right around that time Lindsi's phone dinged. "Trevor?" Lindsi mother asked as she dried a dish. "Yep." Lindsi said looking at her phone. "Hey baby! :) How was church?" Read the text. " Hey handsome! :) It was good. It was about Thanksgiving." Lindsi responded. "Does this mean you are going to be holed up in your room again?" Lindsi mom asked slightly peeved. "No. Just connected to my phone." "Since when are you NOT connected to that thing?" Lindsi's mom asked smiling. "Okay.. More so than usual." Lindsi said giving her mother a slight nudge with her shoulder. Lindsi had to admit that since she was boy free she was much closer to her family. She doubted that would change. Trevor was important but it was always God first, family second (including the dogs), college third, then boyfriend. Trevor was the same way. After Lindsi finished helping her mother in the kitchen, she decided she would got for a walk with the dogs. She hooked Chewy, her little Maltese to his camo leash and collar, and then went outside to wrangle her German Shepard into her red collar and pink leopard retractable leash. The three started on their walk. Lindsi loved days like today, the sun was shining, there wasn't a cloud in the sky, it was cool but rather warm for November. Lindsi's phone dinged with an incoming text. " What is my beautiful girl doing?" Trevor said. " Walking the dogs. What about you handsome?" Lindsi texted back. " Looking at this amazing, sweet girl round this corner." Lindsi was rounding a corner to go back home. She looked up and there in her driveway was Trevor's truck.
